PKMN BW2: Steamy Ferris Wheel by TheNekoStar PKMN BW2: Steamy Ferris Wheel by TheNekoStar
:bulletred::bulletred::bulletred::bulletred:
*SPOILERS* (kinda... nothing important.)

So I'm in Nimbasa, and I remember the sad woman by the Ferris Wheel in B&W1, so I check it out. Sure enough, it's a different girl, but I approach anyway. After a short battle, she invites me onto the Ferris wheel with her. As we ride, she complains about the humidity, and says stuff like "I'm dripping with sweat!" and "The sweat's making my clothes stick to me..." As a warm-blooded straight male, I can't help but let my imagination wander... I get up and decide to make a comic or doodle of it. But through research, I found out that
"IN JAPAN, SHE'S A MAN." :iconvomitchanplz:
Apparently at a daycare where he works, they only accept women, so he dressed as a woman to get the job... In the English version, this is changed but.. I won't see it as a woman ever again...

Yup. Won't be going to the Ferris Wheel anymore...

*EDIT* *Gasp!* One of my submissions is offending people?!
:iconyoumustbenewhereplz: Tell me more.

Don't really see how someone would find this offensive it is sort of like for example you're a vegan you order a vegi burger , you get one and then you find out it is actually beef you would feel sick because you thought you were getting thing but instead got something else.

But in the end I find it funny so meh

PS Have you tried Pokemon Conquest yet?

This is really hilarious. :U

Although, for the gender-neutral pronoun thing, the generally accepted one is "zir."

It's an invented pronoun, but as it says on wiki, "It" is the most common American gender-neutral pronoun. [link]

I'm glad you enjoyed it! ^^ Meant no REAL offense to anyone, but some people can't take a joke. X3

"It" tends to offend some people though, so I just use "xir."

While sensitivity about this kind of stuff exists, this particular one is rather harmless.

Harmless! I agree. I don't want to use xir or zir. Sounds like I'm talking to an alien commander on a spaceship.
"Zir! Report to the bridge!"

What, really? XDDD My mind is scarred now. I always play as the guy chara, so when I get to this part, I'll remind him: "IT'S A TRAP!"

ROFL! I really wished they'd kept the whole "Dude is a lady" thing in the english version! I'm gonna be laughing when I reach this part.

Still not bought the game mind you >___> Just one more day and a half and then I can get it Friday morning.

OIHUU!

I AM OFFENDED BY THIS BY THE WAY >:C

Haha! Yeahhh Not a fan of traps. =___= Also, is interesting you always play as the guy character. The girl character is cute in this one. The guy would be okay if his hair wasn't poppin outta his hat like a palm tree... Still, I keep playin as the male char. XD

Lol I wasn't laughing. Was just like "aaand never riding the Ferris Wheel again."

Can't wait til you get it! We can be poke-buddies!!

And oh snap! Better change it so you not offended! >=0 Lol <3

"Cooking Mama World Kitchen includes more than 25 vegetarian-friendly recipes including delicious breakfast, dinner, dessert and snack options. And, while Mama is not a vegetarian, she fully supports the humane treatment of animals, particularly for her canine protege Max who makes his doggie debut in World Kitchen." They even have 'Mama' saying: "I would never put rat in my Ratatouille," said Mama. "Like any accomplished cook, I create my recipes to appeal to a broad range of tastes and preferences. My only goal is to ensure you leave the table well fed."

Okay... I understand you're a little peeved at the bait-and-switch but calling that character an "it" is still a little cold, the knee-jerk reaction isn't as important as how you're talking about it now that the event has passed and you're presumably of a cooler head.

I honestly think it's because the word 'it' is gender neutral and is a lot easier to type than 'him/her' rather than any percieved sense of bigotry or disrepect towards the LGBT culture.

Except in this case the term "He" would be appropriate because the guy in question isn't cross-dressing out of any sense of atypical gender identity, simply out of necessity.

True, but in this case, the gender of the subject is dependent on the region that you bought the game in. In Japan, the subject is male and crossdresses out of necessity; in the region that NekoStar is in, the subject is female. Thus, differing gender designators.

Then Neko should elect to go by either the original version or the one relevant to him, pick an interpretation and stick to it.

Perhaps, but the whole point of the comic and the comment underneath it was to point out the incongruity between the two versions.

And to get a laugh out of an awkward situation.

Notice he's not at his workplace. (Where he needed to dress as a woman to get the job.) He's at a fair. Still dressed as a woman. Looking for company. As in a date to go on the Ferris Wheel with himself.

Check and mate. :iconherotimeplz:

Huh, good point... which just means he's either gotten used to it or that he is in fact a transgendered individual... so call him her.

'call him her.'

nnnnno. I don't think that's how it works. o.o Especially not after HE says "we're both guys." But is dressed as a girl. So as you can see: 'It' in the general meaning of the word, makes much more and less confusing sense. Except to anyone who is immediately OFFENDED by the word 'It' (Will put 'It' up with 'The dreaded N-word.')

All I can say is: Lotsa people love the comic and got a laugh out of it. Only two (One per site) were butthurt. I'd say all-in-all, I came out on top today. :I

It's a guy. I wasn't using 'IT' as in 'that creature.' But it's clearly just a man who likes to cross-dress and work at a daycare with little children. You're right! Nothin wrong with that!

Or alternatively, he's a man that NEEDS to cross-dress to get a job due to a fairly arbitrary hiring policy, without additional context there's no evidence he gets any enjoyment out of the deception, it could be that the job market is pretty shit down there so his options are limited, and/or that it's one of the few things he's qualified for and that he has no ulterior motives, he could have a genuine passion for teaching.

Drawing a parallel between cross-dressers and pedophiles, whatever the motive of the cross-dressing is specious reasoning at best.

What job market?
1. Obtain Pokemon.
2. Train pokemon.
3. Battle trainers.
4. Acquire money.
Not to mention all of the jobs we have in the real world and more.

Annnnnd he basically comes onto you in the Ferris wheel. Again, this was changed a bit in the English version, but it's still essentially the same. And likewise, there's not enough proof that he's NOT a creepy guy. Never said he was a pedophile. (Although now that you mention it... the player IS like 10... hmmm) Was just saying a man who cross-dresses isn't the best candidate for a child's role model. If I had a child in kindergarten and found out his 'female' teacher was really a guy in a dress, you can bet i'd pull my kid outta that school as fast as possible.
Ex. That clown with an axe MAY just be chopping wood or something. But i'm not gonna stick around to find out why he's holding that axe. I don't NEED extra information to find the situation personally uncomfortable/comedic.

Levia, if you're a cross-dresser that's fine. Defend fellow cross-dressers everywhere, but do it somewhere else. This is MY comic. I found it funny. Others did too. If you wanna bitch n moan somewhere else that "Neko's being chauvinistic again!" Be my guest. But whereas YOU have >opinions< about cross-dressers, and all that shit in general, I do too, and ask that you respect them on MY page. Don't agree with the comic, fine. Move along.

Maybe he just really wants to teach people in a world where the education system seems to be largely ignored and that's the only local teaching positon avaliable...

And what I am or am not is irrelevant in this context, I could be a woman that dresses as a man, a man that dresses as a man, a robot that dresses in a mix of clothing from both genders or a flying spagetti monster that wears nothing at all and I'm still allowed to be irritated when someone's taking the default "ewwww, get them out of here!" reaction towards something that's pretty much harmless, it may make you uncomfortable but to the best of my knowledge there isn't a significant degree of crossover between crossdressers and people who'd cause any kind of harm to children, the assumption that it automatically makes him unfit to teach is just playing into the unthinking knee-jerk reactions towards anything outside the sphere of understanding of straight white 20-40 year old males. And I'm allowed to challenge beliefs that have no reliable basis in fact.

Lol all these 'what ifs' just don't need to be.

You can challenge all you want. Just wish you would quit being so ignorant and let me have my own tastes. If I don't like transgenders or trannies or WHATEVER, That's MY business. They just don't appeal to me. I like women. Therefore, traps are one of my LEAST favorite things. They could be your MOST favorite. In which case, your reaction would be different, and they'd have to send a custodian into the Ferris Wheel cart to clean up after you two.

And that's perfectly fine. But this is my comic and my artist info where I speak my mind about my opinions and tastes. You don't have to like it, nor agree with it, and you are more than welcome to get offended by it. Makes no difference to me. Just don't come preaching how i'm being 'cold' or whatever. I will direct you to the definition of 'it:'
1. Used to refer to a thing previously mentioned or easily identified.
2. Referring to an animal or child of unspecified sex.

Can't call him a 'he' cuz he's trying to be a 'she.'
Can't call him a 'she' cuz she's obviously a 'he.'

So imma settle with It and you can :icondealwithitplz:
